Artists/Writers/Musician Submissions Open Call: BBB Whippin’ Da Winter Blues Exhibition

EVENT NEWS UPDATE: The Black Bear Brotherhood has changed the event date to Friday, February 7th for the multimedia art exhibition and an evening of performance. The event is focused on the various Black LGBTQ responses to seasonal affective disorder (S.A.D.) more commonly known as the “winter blues,” from joy and struggle to resistance and escapism. Mental health is a community issue and creative expressions on how we as a community manage during the winter months offer a rare opportunity to openly discuss and engage a taboo topic widely experienced throughout our people. Creative submissions will be accepted now until Jan. 15th to be reviewed by a committee and selected based on excellence and event appropriateness.
